Competition Structure
with clear rules and guidelines to ensure a fair and engaging experience for all participants.
STARTING JANUARY 2025
of the Golden Hand Trophy Competition is to increase awareness and use of VR-haptics to improve manual dexterity skills when performing common restorative dentistry procedures.
And then when you drill in VR & Haptic Scenario you will discover a new reality and a new world with the same rules like in your real surgical actions. Are you ready for GHT? Learn more about it from Professor Greany!
An Enjoyable Experience for Skill Development
with clear rules and guidelines to ensure a fair and engaging experience for all participants.
Two different categories based on skill level (beginner and experienced) will be established for use from the local to international levels.
Include a variety of tasks (3) that test different aspects of manual dexterity in haptics-reinforced virtual reality.
Structures to be removed (target zone, TZ) and the zone to avoid (leeway zone, LZ) will be indicated.
The TZ removal percentages will indicate the minimum level of target removal required for exercise completion.
The widths of each LZ will also be provided.
Breaching through the LZ will count as an automatic failure.
A timer and working accuracy will be visible to all participants during their competition.
Each task must be attempted three times. The data from each attempt will be calculated. Final score will be based on accuracy, speed, and completion of tasks.
A panel of judges will oversee each event to ensure fairness and accuracy in scoring. Judges will also be responsible for clarifying any disputes regarding task completion.
Participants must follow all safety protocols, especially when using the VR-haptic tools. Unsafe use of the VR-haptic devices may result in disqualification.
Participants may be disqualified for cheating, unsportsmanlike conduct, or failure to adhere to safety guidelines.
The local institutions may give small awards for their top performers in each category and will support the participation of the winners in the to be held global competition in London, 6th of June 2025.
Certificates of acknowledgement will be given to all participants to encourage continued practice and improvement in manual dexterity skills.
