We are very excited about the opportunities that VR-haptics offers for dental education as well as the rest of the medical field. Our initial bringing together of some of the professionals who are actively interested in VR-haptics has been very encouraging and has emphasised how many people there truly are who are keen to explore how this technology can be utilized. While future VR-Haptic Thinkers meetings are planned, we wish to nurture the enthusiasm that these meetings have highlighted. To do this, we would like to create a number of “VR-Haptic Ambassador” positions. We envision that these ambassadors could have a clinical discipline, geographical location, or other such basis to focus on and stimulate interest in VR-haptics and our meetings. They could also have a liaison role in putting people in touch with each other in their area to share experiences in VR-haptics.We hope that the ambassadors could promote the VR-Haptics Thinkers group amongst their colleagues and relevant dental organizations.
